RIO GRANDE CITY - Aurora Villarreal, 90, died Sunday, September 28, 2014 at Mission Regional Medical Center in Mission, Texas. Sanchez Funeral Home of Rio Grande City will be in charge of her funeral services.

Aurora Villarreal age 90, born in La Grulla on March 20, 1924. Beloved by all whom she met was as beautiful and warm as the blankets she crocheted. Her passing on September 28th brings great sadness to all whom have known her but left a legacy that is as far reaching as her love and phone calls. She is preceded in death by her husband Eudocio (Bocho)Villarreal, and siblings; Guadalupe, Martina, Antonia, David, Leonardo and survived by her sister and brother ; Amada Medina and Reymundo Gonzalez; She is survived by her adoring family: children, Telma Longoria, Arturo Villarreal(Della), Ricardo Villarreal(Rosa), David Villarreal(Cristina), Cesar Villarreal(Vicky Foley) and Maribell Solis (Rolando), sixteen of the most loved grandchildren and nineteen of the most blessed great grandchildren. Although gone, her sense of humor, creativity and progressive ideals live on in all of those who were fortunate enough to call her mom, and buela.

Visitations will begin, today, September 30, 2014 from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral mass will be in the morning at Holy Family Church in La Grulla. (Time Pending) on October 1, 2014. Burial will follow at Saenz Cemetery in La Victoria. Funeral services are under the direction of Sanchez Funeral Home.
