Rio Grande City - Carlos D. “Chale” Guerra, 85, entered into eternal rest on Friday, October 31, 2025, at Mission Regional Medical Center in Mission, TX. He passed away peacefully with his family by his side. 2 Timothy 4:7 NASB 7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith; Carlos was born December 13, 1939, in Rio Grande City to Domingo and Emma Muñoz Guerra. Carlos took over the family ranch since the age of eighteen. Farming and ranching was his passion til the day Our Lord and Savior called him home. He is preceded in death by his parents Domingo and Emma Muñoz Guerra. Carlos is survived by his three daughters; Cynthia (Donald) Alaniz, Linda (Noel) Beltran, Laura (Juan) Rocha, all from Rio Grande City; five grandchildren, Nereida (Denzel) Rogers, Janay Rocha, Carlos Beltran, Crystal Alaniz and Juan “LJ” Rocha Jr.; two great-grandsons, Denzel “DJ” Rogers Jr. and Noah Rogers. And his only sister, Edna G. Cruz; and numerous nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Mission Valley Nursing & Transitional Care and Mission Regional Medical Center. Services will take place at Sanchez Funeral Home on November 3, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a rosary at 6:00 pm in Rio Grande City. Second day visitation will be held November 4th, 2025, from 9:00 am to 11:45 am going to Immaculate Church in Rio Grande City at 12:00 pm, Burial following to Rio Grande City Cemetery at 1:00 pm. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Sanchez Funeral Home in Rio Grande City.
