With deep respect and fond remembrance, we mourn the passing of Cipriano Garcia Jr., who departed this life on August 16, 2026, in McAllen, Texas. Born on February 19, 1955, in Rio Grande City, Cipriano’s journey was one deeply rooted in family, heritage, and the enduring bonds of love that defined his days.
Cipriano was a cherished brother, son, and friend, beloved by all who knew him for his warmth and steadfast presence. His early years were shaped by the close-knit embrace of his family in Rio Grande City, where he grew up with a strong sense of community and compassion—a legacy inherited from his late parents, Cipriano Garcia (+) and Maria Nieves Garcia (+). He also carried in his heart the memory of his dearly departed sister, Dora Alicia Garcia (+), whose spirit remained a source of comfort throughout his life.
Cipriano’s life was intertwined with the lives of his siblings, who survive him and continue to uphold the values and traditions that knit their family together. He is lovingly remembered by his brothers Roel Romeo Garcia, Marcelo Garcia, Dagoberto Garcia, and Carlos Garcia, as well as by his sisters Cristela Garcia and Silvia Guerra. Their shared experiences—the laughter, strength during challenges, and countless family moments—formed the foundation of Cipriano’s world. He is also remembered by his loving girlfriend, Monica Decker, with whom he spent his last years happily. He loved her so much.
Those privileged to know Cipriano will remember him as a pillar of quiet strength, a man who honored his family, respected his roots, and lived with dignity. He valued the ties that bind and demonstrated, through his actions and presence, the importance of coming together in support and love. Cipriano’s legacy is etched into the hearts of his siblings and the wider circle of those fortunate enough to have crossed paths with him.
Friends and family will gather to honor Cipriano’s life and memory. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Sanchez Funeral Home, located at 301 East Second St., Rio Grande City, TX. A Rosary will be recited that evening at 6:00 PM at the same location. On Thursday, August 20, visitation will resume from 8:00 AM to 9:45 AM, followed by a Mass at Sacred Heart Church Los Garcias, 169 W. Old Highway 83, Rio Grande City, at 10:00 AM. Cipriano will then be laid to rest at Rio Grande City County Cemetery, 1043 W Canales 3rd St, with the burial beginning at 11:00 AM.
Those who loved Cipriano Garcia Jr., will cherish his memory and hold close the lessons and love he so generously shared. His life, shaped by grace and connection, will remain an inspiration to all who knew him. May he rest in eternal peace.
