With heavy yet grateful hearts, the family of Diana Zamora Bazan announces her peaceful passing on June 27, 2026, at the age of 94. Born on October 25, 1931, in Escobares, Texas, Diana’s journey through life was marked by love, resilience, and unwavering devotion to her family.

Diana was the cherished daughter of Fidel Zamora and Paula Garza Zamora, whose values and warmth shaped her spirit from the earliest days. Throughout her long and fruitful life, Diana’s roots remained firmly planted in South Texas, where she created a loving home and built a lasting legacy.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Alonzo Bazan, whose memory lived on in her heart every day. Together, Diana and Alonzo nurtured a family that became her life’s greatest joy and accomplishment.

Diana’s love and guidance will be forever treasured by her children, who survive her: daughters Zenaida Bazan, Esenia Bazan, Otila Bazan, and Paulina Bazan Chapa, as well as her sons Alonzo Bazan Jr. and Carlos Bazan. She is also survived by her 24 grandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Diana’s devotion as a mother was matched only by her gentle wisdom, patient counsel, and nurturing touch, which bound the family together even in the hardest times.

She is also lovingly remembered by her brother, Cirilando Zamora, whose bond with Diana was deep and enduring, a connection shaped by shared memories, traditions, and strength in family ties.

Diana is now reunited with her parents, Fidel and Paula, and her beloved husband, Alonzo, whose spirits welcome her home.

Throughout her life, Diana touched the hearts of all who knew her. She was a beacon of compassion and grace, always offering a listening ear, a kind word, and unfailing support to those in need. Her life’s story, defined by perseverance, generosity, and an unshakeable faith, inspires her family and community to carry her legacy forward with love and pride.

The family invites all who wish to honor Diana’s memory to join them in a series of services. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Sanchez Funeral Home, located at 301 East Second St., Rio Grande City, Texas. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. that same evening. A second visitation will take place on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., followed by a Mass at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, 6653 FM 1430, La Casita, Texas. Diana will be laid to rest at La Casita Cemetery, 58 Casita Cemetery Rd, Rio Grande City, following the funeral Mass.
