Eduardo “Eddie” Lopez, joined his holy father in eternal rest on May 08, 2025. He was surrounded by family and friends.
Eduardo Lopez was born on October 23, 1953 to Erasmo and Estella Lopez and was raised in Rio Grande City with his siblings Erasmo Jr., Hector ✝️, Cynthia, and Maria “Terry” Teresa Lopez.
Eddie graduated from Rio Grande City High School in 1972 and earned an Associates Degree in Dental Laboratory Technology from Texas State Technical Institute (TSTI) in Waco, Texas. Eddie joined his father and siblings at Lopez Ready Mix, a concrete company founded by his father Erasmo. Eddie married Sandra R. Lopez in 1984 and they had two children, Eduardo Lopez, Jr. and Randy Edward Lopez.
In 2000, Eddie formed his own concrete company, Starr Cement, Inc., in Penitas, Texas and ran the company successfully until his retirement in 2013. Eddie loved his work and worked hard every day.
Eddie was an avid hunter, fisherman, part time beer drinker and full time practical joker. His laugh was infectious and his kindness great. Eddie and Sandra attended church regularly at Immaculate Conception Church where Eddie volunteered countless hours of his time.
Eddie is survived by his wife Sandra, his siblings Erasmo Jr., Cynthia, and Terry, his children Eddie Jr. (wife Emma), Randy, and his grandchildren Luca and Stella Lopez. Eddie is preceded in death by his parents Erasmo and Estella Lopez and brother Hector Lopez.
Rio Grande City - Eduardo Lopez, 71, died Thursday, May 8, 2025, at his Residence in Rio Grande, Texas. Funeral arrangements will be under the direction of Sanchez Funeral Home in Rio Grande City, TX
