Felipita P. Escobar

ROMA - Felipita P. Escobar (Pita) was called home by the Lord after a long illness and passed away peacefully at her home in Escobares, Texas on April 01, 2013.



She was preceded in death by her parents Loreto and Santitos Pena, her sisters, Socorro P. Ramirez, Maria Pena, and Sofia Garcia. She is survived by her beloved husband, Noel Escobar, her brothers Leonel (Angelina) Pena of Rio Grande City and M.J. (Leticia) Pena of Edinburg; sisters Raquel (Osbaldo+) Vela of Roma and Gloria (Romero) Flores of Zapata. Also surviving her are many of her beloved nieces and nephews.



Pita, as she was fondly called, graduated from Roma High School and received a bachelor's degree in Physical Education from Pan American College. She taught school in Rio Grande CISD, and later at Holy Name Catholic School in San Antonio, Texas where she spent most of her married life.



Visitation will begin today, Wednesday, April 03, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a rosay at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Father Francisco on Thursday, April 04, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at Sagrado Corazon de Jesus Church in Escobares, Texas. Burial will follow at Escobares Cemetery. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Sanchez Memorial Funeral Home of Roma.



The family is most appreciative and grateful for the care provided by Dr. Raymond Mussett of Roma and the nursing staff of Health Care Unlimited of McAllen.
