Flora G. Ozuna

Flora G. Ozuna, 68, passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at Mission Regional Hospital in Mission, TX. She was born on November 24, 1950 in Garciasville, TX. Her parents Thomas Bazan Garcia and Juanita Lopez.  She was preceded in death by her father.

She is survived by her husband, Horacio Ozuna Jr. and children:  Horacio Ozuna III (Susan), Francisco Javier Ozuna (Gisela), Michael Andrew Ozuna (Dianaee) and seven grandchildren.  Flora was an amazing “Odessy of the Mind” Coach - she was instrumental in helping many teams win at local and state level.  She loved working with kids and helping them develop their talents. She was instrumental in helping students to pass their tests by tutoring them.  She always lent a helping hand to ensure that kids who needed a warm coat in winter recieved one.  She also helped students who needed clothing and school supplies, and during prom she instructed her female students to apply makeup and styling their hair.  She always volunteered in School events.  You could always count on her to give her honest opinion if you asked. She was a great mother and wife and a loving grandmother. Her family was blessed with her undivided attention and love. She loved to attend sorority dances and other civic events.  Flora had a beautiful soul, personality and enjoyed life to the fullest.

     Visitation will start on Sunday, November 24, 2019 from 1:00pm – 9:00pm, with a Rosary at 7:00pm.  Visitation will continue on Monday, November 25, 2019 from 9:00am – 12:45pm.  Her Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00pm Monday, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Rio Grande City, TX.  Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery, Rio Grande City.  All funeral arrangements are under the services of Sanchez Funeral Home of Rio Grande City, TX.
