Roma, Texas-On Friday, June 23, 2017, our Heavenly Father called his son Genaro Muñoz Jr. home. Genaro was Born in Roma, Texas on February 21, 1948. He was preceded in death by his parents Genaro and Beatriz Muñoz and was survived by his loving wife, Dora Salinas Muñoz; his daughter, Lucy Muñoz; his sons, Genaro Muñoz III (Delicia), Jesus Rolando Muñoz (Monique); his grandchildren Christopher Muñoz, Alex Hinojosa, Ashley Nicole Muñoz, Genaro Muñoz IV, Gerardo Muñoz, Daniel Muñoz, Isabella Decory Muñoz, and Sophia Alexandra Muñoz.

Genaro graduated from Rio Grande City High School in 1966. He attended San Antonio College and he began his career with the Texas Department of Health, as a meat inspector for 35 years, until his retirement.

Genaro was a pillar of the community, as he served in the Knights of Columbus, Rio Grande City Chapter. He loved ranching, hunting, watching movies, and traveling. But above all, he enjoyed spending time with his wonderful wife of 49 years, his children, and his grandchildren. Genaro was a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. His quiet strength and selfless love will live on through those that he leaves behind.

Visitation will start on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 from 12noon - 9:00pm, a Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:00pm. His Funeral Mass will be on Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at 10:00am, Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church in Roma, Texas. Burial will follow at Roma City Cemetery. All funeral services have been entrusted to Sanchez Memorial Funeral Home of Roma, Texas.
