Gustavo " Gus" Escobar Jr

Gustavo "Gus" Escobar, Jr. - 56 years young
Survived by his loving wife of 36 years Dalinda Escobar and his three children, Gus III, Ashley and Gilbert and 5 grandchildren.
Mother, Carmen Pena Escobar and sisters, Maribel (Mari) Escobar Darley and Yvette Escobar Garza

Gus was known and loved by many in his community and wherever he went he made great friends. No one was a stranger to Gus, with his infectious laugh and jokes he was always surrounded by amazing friends. He served with the U.S. Postal Service for over 30 years, most recently as Post Master and was planning to retire in the very near future. He was deeply passionate about his family, a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He loved the great outdoors and was passionate about competitive fishing, hunting, softball and cook-off competitions. He won many championship titles in these areas.
Most recently in softball, the 2016 SSUSA 50+ World Championship title in Las Vegas.

He was a regular co-host of the weekly television show, The Texas Sportsman and one of the writers for the monthly Texas Sportsman Magazine. Here is where he shared his expertise of fishing and hunting.

An entrepreneurial and creative spirit at heart he developed many recipes......from his famous BBQ ribs to his Charro beans.

He will be sorely missed, never forgotten and never replaced. The laughs he shared with us and the joy he brought into all our lives will remain in our hearts forever. A bright light that will live and shine in our hearts and souls.....may Gus be a constant reminder to us all to live life to the fullest, laugh to the fullest and love to the fullest.
