Jessie Ray Warren

Jessie Ray Warren, age 72, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Friday, November 08, 2013, after a long battle with cancer. He was born on Sunday July 6, 1941 at Fort Ringgold Texas to Jessie Raymond Warren and Elizabeth Milo Smith.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Bernice Beatrice Hocker, son Wil Warren and wife Angie, daughter Natalie Elaine Warren Armendariz and husband Alonso, grandkids Kasandra, Alonso, and Josh Armendariz and Jed an Macayla Warren, sister Sally Randolf and husband Nick, sister Charlene Smith and husband Teddy Ralph, brother Billy Darrel Warren and wife Lois, and sister Bonnie Price, numerous nieces, nephews, and many loving family and friends. Jessie is preceded in death by his son Jessie Ray Warren II, father Jessie Raymond Warren, and mother, Elizabeth Milo Smith.
Fishing, hunting, sports, and watching his grandkids play sports was his greatest pleasures.
Jessie spent well over 40 years in the oilfields around the world providing for a family that made the most of his time at home. Twenty years as Onboard Supervisor without a lost time accident. Maintained Coast Guard Licenses, "Rig Mover's" certificates as well as all drilling required certificates for entire length of employment with GSF. 1967 Storm Drilling Co., Driller, Crane Operator, Derrickman, and Roughneck, Gulf of Mexico. 1975-1981 Quebec, GOM, Brownsville. Supervised building of Global Marine's first five Jackups through initial drill. 1981-1983 Angola and Gabon, Rig Manager in Luanda, Angola, and Shore Base superintendent in Port Gentil Gabon. 1983-1986 Gulf of Mexico, Onboard Superintendent, OIM Toolpusher. 1986-2004 Offshore West Coast of Africa, onboard Drilling Superintendent, OIM, Rig Mover for Marathon Letourneau class drilling units & Freeman and Goldman L780 drilling units. 1979-2004 Global Marine Drilling Co. (Global Santa Fe). 2004-2011 Retired in December of 2004 due to cancer. 2011-2012 Cheaspeake/Crescent Consulting LLC, Drilling Foreman. In his years in the oilfield he opened the doors to many young men from the Rio Grande City, area.
The family would like to thank Dr. Ghanem Daghestani at the Cancer Center at Renaissance, his wonderful staff, Cristina, Yesenia, Nellie, Cyndy, and Victoria. Marcy , thank you.
We will miss him, but he is at peace with the Lord.
