Jose David "Joey" Saldana beloved husband, devoted father, loving brother, cherished uncle and proud grandfather, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Saturday, February 14th, 2026 at the age of 58. Joey was born on September 20, 1967 in Roma, Texas. He preceded in death by: his father David Daniel "DD" Saldana, sister Melissa Saldana, niece Alexia Aviles and both his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Joey was a devoted husband and father whose family was always at the center of his life. He was married to our mother, Mary Lou, for 39 beautiful years. Their marriage was loving and full of cherished memories, built on deep love, commitment and companionship.
Joey was genuine and kind-hearted, the kind of person who would always lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Sincere, gentle and calm by nature, Joey had quite a strength that brought comfort to those around him. Joey loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed cooking for his family and friends. One of his greatest joys was fishing with his son and his grandson, creating memories that will be treasured forever. Whether through his generosity, his steady presence, or the simple moments he shared, Joey left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Joey is survived by his loving wife Mary Lou, his mother Rebecca Olivarez, his stepmom, Diana Saldana, daughters Monica and Marissa Saldana (Joshua Santiago), his son Jose David Saldana II (Maria Luviano) his grandchildren Joseph, Emery, and Catalina, siblings Ella Lou Perez (Alfonso), Rodney Royder (Maricruz}, Hiram Ramirez and David Daniel Saldana Jr., (Justine). He will be remembered for his loving heart, his selflessness and the deep love he had for his family. Joey's legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the love he gave so freely.
