Luis Guillen, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2026, at the South Texas Health System Hospital in McAllen, Texas. Born on June 21, 1940, in Camargo, Tamps, Luis lived a life filled with devotion to his family and community.
He is survived by his cherished wife, Rebecca L. Guillen, whose love and companionship were a source of strength and comfort. Luis’s legacy continues through his granddaughters Annahiz Cortez (Hernan), Briana Alaniz, Cassandra Alaniz, Tyler Stark, and his great-grandson Luis Gael Cortez, all of whom held a special place in his heart. He was also lovingly supported by his sisters, Ludivina Guillen and Elizabeth Guillen.
Luis was preceded in death by his dear parents, Manuel Guillen and Josefina Zuniga Guillen, as well as his beloved daughters, Oneida Guillen and Aleyda Guillen, who remain forever in the memories of those who knew them.
A time to honor and remember Luis will be held starting with visitation on May 24, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Sanchez Memorial Funeral Home, located at 101 AR Sanchez Sr. Dr., Roma, Texas. The evening will include a Rosary service at 6:00 p.m. On May 25, 2026, visitation will resume from 8:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the same location. A Mass celebrating Luis’s life and faith will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Mission Catholic Church, 202 Francesca Ave, Roma, Texas. The day will conclude with his burial at Roma City Cemetery at 12:15 p.m.
Luis Guillen’s memory will be treasured by all whose lives he touched. His strength, kindness, and dedication to family are his enduring legacy, and he will be deeply missed by those who had the honor of knowing him.
