Manuela R. Perez

RIO GRANDE CITY / CORPUS CHRISTI - Manuela "Maime" Reyna Perez, died peacefully on June 16, 2017. Se was 93 years old. Manuela was born in Rio Grande City, TX., to Olivia Lopez and Pablo Reyna. Manuela moved to Corpus Christi and started working at CC Naval Air Station. During WWII, she was a Rosy Riviter. Manuela was named CC Naval Air Base's "Aradmac's Woman of the Year" in 1970. Manuela married Frank Perez in 1971. Manuela had no children, but she has several nephews and nieces that admire and love her, Ralph Reyna Jr., Jerry Krause, Ray Reyna, Esther Selman, Christina Balough, Carroll Krause, Sandra Salazar, Loretta Thompson, and Donna Reyna. Manuela also has several great and great-great nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, Olivia and Pablo Reyna, husband, Frank Perez, two brothers, Ralph and Andrew Reyna, sister, Lucia Krause, and nephew, Paul Krause. Manuela was a very devout woman and a member of the Catholic Daughter's of America. Manuela was a very strong, independent, intelligent, and caring woman. She will be missed. Visitation will be held at Cage Mills Funeral Directors on Monday, June 19, 2017 from 5:00pm to 9:00Pm with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm that same evening. Funeral Service will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at 10:00am. Interment will follow at Rio Grande City Cemetery in Rio Grande City at 3:00pm.
