It is with a broken heart but with much love that I write this post in appreciation of the life of my mother Maria Ramona Flores. Our family matriarch passed away peacefully surrounded by family last night as she made her way to be with our Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit, her beloved husband, parents, family members, and dear friends. May she Rest in Peace. She was the rock of our family in good and bad times always knowing what to do and say. She will be dearly missed. As a lifelong member of the Roma-Los Saenz and El Sauz community, she would always make it a point to say she was from Los Saenz first and foremost. As an only child, she cherished the many cousins and friends she grew up with and would enjoy her daily calls with all of them. She was also very proud of the seasonal/migrant life she and her parents experienced and endured. She was a faithful member of Holy Family Church in Los Saenz as well as a member of the church Sagrado Corazon Society. As an educator at Roma ISD for 35 years, she was most proud of her 21 years at the small two-room 1st and 2nd-grade school in Escobares. She would also talk about her fond memories there and the many stories and adventures with her students. She was very much elated to come across all her students over the years. She was also a member of a Roma community Sorority club where she would continue to cherish her time with her lifelong friends and their families. Even though she is no longer with us on this Earth, we know she is now in peace in His Glory. Till we see each other again my dear, sweet mother.
