Maria Lydia Garcia

Maria Lydia Garcia, 75, went to be with the Lord on September 4, 2018. She was the wife ofAlberto Garcia, and they shared 54 years together. Lydia was born in Rio Grande City, Texasand was the daughter of Silverio Garza and Adela Lara.  

She is survived by her loving children, Alda (Dannie), Alba, Alberto, Adulfonso, and Lyla (Ron), her grandchildren Adulfonso Jr. (Melissa), Edward (Lorena), Arizel, Aritza, Brianna, Arianna, Albert, and Aidan, great-grandchild, Brayden, her sisters Carolina, Elda, Irma, Ma. Del Jesus, and brother Silverio III.

She was preceded in death by her parents Silverio and Adela and her husband Alberto Garcia. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church. Viewing will be held from 11 a.m. – 9 p.m. on

Thursday, September 6, 2018 with a rosary at 7 p.m. at Sanchez Funeral Home in Rio GrandeCity. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church in Rio GrandeCity on Friday, September 7, 2018. Interment will follow at Starr County Cemetery in RioGrande City.
