Maria Olga Martinez

Maria Olga Martinez went home with the Lord, her Savior, on Friday, June 12th, 2020. She was born in Ciudad Miguel Aleman, Tamaulipas Mexico on July 15, 1938, and was 81 years old. She married the love of her life, Jose G. Martinez, on February 28, 1965, and shortly thereafter moved to Dinuba, California. Together Mom and Dad raised a family with love, faith, respect, and hard work. After 20 wonderful years in California, the family relocated to Roma Texas and continued to grow the family with love and faith. “Mama Olga” as she was affectionately called was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, grandmother, and great- grandmother who served the Lord until her last breath. Her passion for life was her family and took pride in helping raise her grandchildren and great-grandchildren with her unwavering love and wisdom. Her daily teachings of life’s values and her cooking skills will always be her most treasured memories. She was indeed an avid cook and crafter of sorts. She is preceded in death by her parents, Maria Alba and Martin Ramirez, her beloved husband, Jose G. Martinez, her siblings, Mario Ramirez, Olivia Gonzalez, Ofelia Chavez, Mauro Ramirez, Oralia Jimenez, and niece, Eva Jimenez. She is survived by her sisters, Oneida Guzman (Rufino) and Odilia Zumosa (Alvaro), as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Left to cherish her memory are her loving children, Jose R. Martinez, Jr. (Mirella), Armando Martinez (Martha), Jaime Martinez (Cristina), and Diana Martinez. Also, surviving her are her dearest grandchildren, Krystania Martinez, Alesia Cortinas (Roel), Brianna Ramos (Jose), Jaime Martinez Jr., Jose Mario Martinez, Briza Sanchez (Javier), Sivoney Martinez, Jesus Almendarez Jr., and Yarizel Almendarez. Last but not least, surviving her are her precious great-grandchildren, Desiree Nicole Sanchez, Dana Patricia Sanchez, and Josue Alejandro Ramos. The family would like to thank the staff at DHR Hospital in Edinburg, TX, and the staff/ nurses at Rio Grande City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Gracia Services, as well as Dr. Raymund Musset for the care and dedication of our beloved mother. 
Visitation will be on Monday, June 15 from 3:00 pm - 9:00 pm with a Rosary at 7:00 pm at Sanchez Memorial Funeral  Home in Roma Texas. On Tuesday, June 16, a mass in celebration of her life will be held at our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church in Roma, Texas at 10:00 am.
