Martin Ramirez, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2026, in Rio Grande City. Born on January 30, 1933, in McAllen, Texas, Martin lived a life rich with love, family, and devotion that touched the hearts of everyone who knew him.
Martin was a man of quiet strength and unwavering kindness, qualities that endeared him to all who had the privilege of calling him a friend or family member. His presence was a source of comfort and wisdom, and his legacy is deeply rooted in the love he shared with those closest to him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Olivia C. Ramirez, whose steadfast support was the cornerstone of their enduring partnership. Together, they nurtured a beautiful family including his cherished daughters: San Juanita Hinojosa (Vidal+), Annabel Saenz and her husband Jose Maria, Edna Edith Lara and her husband Lorenzo, Maria Guadalupe Ramirez, and Maria Isabel Villarreal alongside her husband Javier. Martin’s spirit lives on vibrantly through his ten devoted grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, each a testament to the lasting impact of his nurturing heart.
Martin was preceded in death by his parents, Baldomero Ramirez and Francisca A. Ramirez, whose memories he carried with deep respect and honor. He also mourned the loss of his daughter, Neri Olivia Sandoval (Javier+), whose memory remained a treasured part of his life.
The family welcomes all who wish to pay their respects to join in the remembrance of Martin’s remarkable journey. A visitation will be held at Sanchez Memorial Funeral Home in Roma, Texas, on May 14, 2026, from 1:00 PM until 8:00 PM, with a rosary service beginning at 5:00 PM. Further visitation hours will continue the next morning, May 15, from 8:00 AM to 9:15 AM, followed by a Mass at Holy Family Mission Catholic Church at 9:30 AM. The burial will take place thereafter at Los Saenz Cemetery at 10:30 AM.
Martin's life was a tapestry woven with love, faith, and devotion, and his memory will forever be cherished by those who were fortunate enough to know him. Though he has left this world, the light of his spirit continues to shine brightly in the hearts of his family and friends. He will be profoundly missed and eternally remembered as a pillar of love and strength in the lives he touched.
