In Loving Memory of Minerva Garza Salinas
Minerva Garza Salinas, age 71, passed away peacefully at her home in La Rosita, Texas, on May 6, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Minerva was born on April 15, 1955, to Evangel Garza and Eliza Muñiz Garza of Los Barreras, Texas. She was raised in a large and loving family alongside her eight siblings, where the values of faith, unity, and compassion became the foundation of her life. Minerva was a proud graduate of Roma High School, Class of 1974, and later attended the University of Pan American. She dedicated most of her life to serving others as an educator, touching countless lives with her patience, wisdom, and caring heart. Minerva carried herself with grace, strength, kindness, and unwavering faith, leaving a lasting impression on everyone blessed to know her.
She was married to Jaime Humberto Salinas for 51 beautiful years and was truly the love of his life. Their love story remained strong throughout every season of life, and Jaime will always cherish the memory of falling in love with her, a love that never faded.
Minerva was a devoted wife, a loving mother to her three daughters, Veronica Salinas, Rebecca Salinas Yzaguirre, and Angela Salinas Escobar, and a proud grandmother to seven cherished grandchildren: Jaime Humberto Ramirez, Armando Javier Guzman, Minerva Vianey Guerrero, Eliza Evangelina Guerrero, Sarah Edna Yzaguirre, Anna Christina Padron, and Victoria Grace Yzaguirre. She also leaves behind her beloved sons-in-law, Leopoldo Yzaguirre and Isaac Escobar.
Minerva was a woman of deep faith who dedicated her life to loving and caring for her family. To her, family was everything. She found joy in life’s simple moments, treasured time spent with those she loved, and touched countless lives with her warm and loving spirit.
Throughout her long health journey, Minerva never complained and always chose to see the bright side in every situation and in every person. She was a true fighter who showed her family what it meant to be strong, resilient, and united. Even in difficult times, she led with compassion, courage, and grace.
As an educator, Minerva dedicated herself to guiding and inspiring others with patience, kindness, and understanding. She was not only a teacher in the classroom, but also in life, teaching by example through her generosity, wisdom, and unconditional love.
Minerva will be remembered for her lovely personality, her beautiful heart, and the way she truly enjoyed life. She stood firmly for her faith, the importance of family, and always seeing the good in others. Her legacy of love, strength, and devotion will continue to live on through all who knew her.
Visitation services will be held on Friday from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Sanchez Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will follow on Saturday from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Santa Rosa de Lima Catholic Church. Cremation will take place thereafter.
Minerva will forever be loved, deeply missed, and never forgotten.
