Rita "Sara" Gomez
La Grulla - Rita S. Gomez, a Lifetime resident of La Grulla passed away Saturday, February 25, 2017 at Retama Manor Nursing Home in Rio Grande City at the age of 96. She is preceded in death by her husband Guadalupe Gomez and her son Baldemar Gomez.
She is survived by her daughter Nelda (+Pedro) Castillo, sons, Guadalupe (Yolanda) Gomez, Jose Maria Gomez, Elmo (Alma) Gomez, and daughter-in-law Elizabeth Gomez. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 21 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral Mass will be today, Monday, February 28, 2017 at 11am at Holy Family Church in La Grulla. Interment will follow at Los Solis Cemetery. Sanchez Funeral Home is in charge of funeral arrangements.
