Escobares-Teodora Eustolia (Lita) Soza age 86, was called to her eternal rest by our Heavenly father Saturday, September 14, 2013.

Lita was born in Escobares on November 9,1926. She was the eigth child of Alvino and Estanislada Vela Soza.

Lita attended school in a three-room house in Escobares for her elementary years. Then she attended school in Roma and graduated from

Rio Grande City High School. After graduation she was employed in retail business in Pharr, Texas. Then she moved back to Escobares

and was employed for many years with Gonzalez Mercantile until she retired.

As a child, Lita grew up during the great depression. She experienced the hard life of that time but may have been a blessing to learn a strong work ethic, good family values and develop hope and faith for the life ahead.

Lita served as a Eucharistic Minister and was involved in the church activities until health issues dominated her life.

Lita is survived by her brother Antonio Leonel (Tony) Soza (Wife Ella) and large number of nephews and nieces.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7pm, Monday, September 16, 2013 followed by recitation of the holy rosary at 7pm at Sanchez Memorial Funeral Home in Roma.

Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, September 17, 2013 with Requiem Mass at Sacred Heart of Jesus in Escobares. Graveside service will be at the Escobares Cemetery. Sanchez Memorial Funeral Home of Roma is in charge of arrangements.
